Get To Know Dr. Shreya Desai
Born in London and raised in Richmond, Dr. Shreya brings a world of experience to RVO Pediatric Dentistry. Her multicultural background - with roots in Africa, India, and Britain - gives her a unique ability to connect with families from all walks of life. What sets Dr. Shreya apart is her calm demeanor and ability to connect with young patients - always with a listening ear and their comfort in mind.
A proud Virginian, Dr. Shreya graduated from Godwin High School right here in Henrico before earning her dental degree from VCU. She also completed her specialty in pediatric dentistry locally at Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital. Her passion for pediatric dentistry was ignited during a mission trip to Peru, where she provided care to children in underserved areas. Dr. Shreya believes all children should benefit from access to dental care and would like to continue similar missions throughout her career in pediatric dentistry.
When not crafting beautiful smiles, Dr. Shreya enjoys tennis, hiking in the Shenandoah mountains, and exploring Richmond's festivals with her husband and their corgi, Roo.

What to Expect
First Visit
At RVO Pediatric Dentistry, we've designed your child's first visit to be a delightful introduction to dental care. Dr. Shreya and our friendly team will warmly welcome you and your little one, creating a relaxed atmosphere from the start. We'll begin with a gentle examination, using kid-friendly language to explain each step.
Depending on your child's age and comfort level, we may perform a cleaning. We always prioritize your child's comfort, taking breaks if needed and answering any questions you or your child may have. The visit concludes with our signature Bear Factory experience, sending your child home with a new friend and a positive memory of their dental visit.
What to Bring
For your child's first visit, please bring their dental insurance information, a list of any medications or health concerns, and their favorite stuffed animal or toy for comfort. Many of our patients love to bring back their bears! We love checking up on your bear's teeth, too!
